TI and Tiny

From Trap Muzik to Allegations

2021 has been rolling out the carpet of surprise news. In recent news, rapper Clifford “T.I” Harris jr. and his wife, Xscape member, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle- Harris have been the center of sexual abuse allegations. The allegations come on the heels of a dispute that the Harris’s have been involved in with their former friend, Sabrina Peterson. After, their fallout, as witnessed on social media, Peterson began to make allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking and shared the messages of other alleged victims.

While the Harris’s are denying the allegations, and calling them both false and funny, many have taken to social media to denigrate T.I, as he has been a very vocal advocate for protecting Black women. In the midst of the Me Too Movement, where sexual allegations are taken extremely seriously, VH1 has paused production of the Harris’s reality show, ‘T.I & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle.’

Although the allegations have not been officially investigated by law enforcement agencies, the court of public opinion has reached a split decision, half siding with Sabrina Peterson and the alleged victims; while the other half siding with the Harris’s. Until an official investigation has been launched and concluded, we must remember that both parties have a burden of proof to satisfy.

Although the show has been paused, (TI) Harris still remains on the advisory board for Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms of Atlanta and still holds his professorship at Clark Atlanta University.
